Entry Requirements for the MMBP
as of November 2009
To take part in the MMBP, you have to show that:
• You speak English well and know the midwifery words you will need to use
• You are a midwife.
How do I get into the MMBP?
To get into the MMBP, you have to speak English well and have a high level of competency and experience as a midwife. Midwives come from different backgrounds, so the MMBP will accept different combinations of education and experience.
There are two ways you can apply to the MMBP, depending on your education and experience: Option A or Option B. You will need to prove you meet eligibility requirements, by providing documents and references.
It is important to know that even if you meet the requirements of the MMBP, not everyone who applies will get in. There are a limited number of spaces in the program. The skills or educational requirements missing in your midwifery background may also be too large to be filled by this program.
