We hope that the information provided on this site will enable you to learn more about the regulation of midwifery across Canada. In particular, we want you to know that midwifery regulators are working together to ensure that there are consistent standards, regulated practice, and more practicing midwives across Canada. Some of our initiatives include the signing of an interprovincial mobility agreement, the creation of Canadian Competencies for Midwives, the publication of numerous research studies on the best way to assess internationally educated midwives, and the development of the Canadian Midwifery Registration Examination.
